Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hey everyone hope you all had a great christmas and have a happy new year.

I have had to go back and redo my blendshapes again only to find they were still messed up. Seems there were still some movements i hadn't zeroed out so now I must go back and redo them. I feel this is the easiest way.

Worked for quite a few weeks and now no work until after the new year. So enjoying my time off and stuff. Got some nifty stuff for xmas including a new desk so thats cool.

Been thinking alot lately debating going back to school see if i can improve upon my schooling some more we'll see what happens I guess still need to think on it some more.

Anyway thats pretty much all for now.

Update

Yeah I know a quick update for once hehe. Well I have a temp job for the moment doing some typesetting work from home for a local typesetting company which will make me some money and allow me the time to work on my demoreel as well. Work on that is coming along. The rig is almost done just need to do my hands and the rig is complete. Have an eye texture made for her eyes. Still working on painting the uvs. Also got some design work from a design company i do freelance work for. So all and all the last couple weeks have been rather busy. And I've managed to make a little money as well.

Update on the demoreel

Ok demo reel update. Modeling is now complete, background is also complete. I have started on the UV painting, about halfway complete and the rigging (got up to the spine complete). So that means soon I will be ready to animate. However, I did recently did get some freelance work and have a commission to design a website. So with those on the run it is a little slow going. I also have a job interview for Friday. Typesetting mostly though.

I haven't really had much time to do any drawing but hopefully soon I will eek out a few pictures. Thats about it for now. Other than that things are going pretty good.

Computer woes and model woes

Oh woe is me. So my harddrives started acting up really bad and my windows got all screwed up. Discovered my power supply was blown so replaced it with an OCZ 600 watt powersupply. I then had to reinstall windows and reinstall all my programs all over again joy. Anyway the sad part is everything I did to my model over the last week is gone. This is a minor setback albeit an annoying one. So its back to the drawing board and redoing it again. Seems the file got corrupted during the who mess with my computer. I managed to keep everything else though at least. Still working on the reinstallation of my programs. Maya is up and running at least though. Just gotta get Illustrator and Photoshop up and going along with Office. My drives seem to be working ok which is a relief.

Alas again she draws!

Oooook so recently I read a fanfiction about the Arch Angel Tyrael and a sorceress who fall in love. From the PC game called Diablo 2. So naturally I had to draw them and I do say they turned out rather well. Here is a link to the picture. :)

Nudged so here goes!

Ok so I got nudged and well gee I guess I got nudged because brenna got nudged so I guess I will post and like let everyone know I am still alive here. Yeah I am still trying to find a job. Having a hard time doing so. But I keep trucking. The new demo reel is going good. The set is just about done and the plane is rigged and ready to be animated. I thought for the plane I would place the model Tony in it and have him fly it and use it as an intro to the new demo reel. I want to use the plane for something. I will update everyone soon on the set after its finished.

Other than the job woes I am doing ok, doing what I can. It is frustrating to say the least. But all I can do is keep trying and hope that someone is willing to give me a chance. Having a job in my field would get me more experienced and make me better as I am working and getting better at what I do.

As for the whole election thing. Well I won't post my view on the subject. Religion and politics are volatile subjects and I do not want to get in on the mechanics of those two topics. I just hope everyone voted. Voting is important in any country. Anyway moving on, I will post a few graphic works I have done recently on Deviantart. So keep an eye out for those.

The elf is not dead or antisocial

Nope don't worry still alive here hehe. Just got back from a three week vacation in the US of A. Yep stopped in at New Mexico, had a tired blow, then stopped in arizona for the grand canyon then on to vegas...hated it moved on, went to colorado however, got stranded in Vail when the radiator blew (two days). Then had the altinator go in Denver (oy) and now that we're home looks like there is a problem with the muffler now. Can someone please get rid of murphy for me please???? Hehe ok well I will post a more updated version of my trip in a day by journal. But that will come tomorrow....right now I am exhausted and in pain. Bleh

New Projects

Yep thats right i have started some new projects. I am doing a fair bit of sketching these days. and will be painting a lovely portrait portraying some of my favourite disney princesses and a castle in behind. This will be my first painting in a while and will be done in acrylic.

My next project is a new model that I think will be cute and funny. That will be done in Maya. I will try to get some of my sketches up on devart soon. Will keep everyone up to date on my other project.

My plane is done as yet is not animated but alas it will be soon.

Plane is Done

Hi ya everyone, the plane is now just about done, just have to finish up the wheels add some controls and its ready to be animated. Ultra Lite Plane Project

As I am linking this blog to my website it will now also become my standard blog where people can keep track of my progress through my latest projects.
The model of my ultra lite plane is well underway. It is completely modeled now and ready to be texturized. I will be posting pictures of this soon. This will be posted on my website and on my deviantart site.

My webpage is currently going through a much needed update. Including the addition of some new pictures and the removal of some old ones. I will be adding thumbnails to the design page as well as updating my resume and other pages. Eventually I would like to get a quicktime demoreel up there too. Stay tuned everyone, more updates later.

Demos Away

Yep my demo reels are away now well at least 7 of them. I have to get the next batch ready to go out next. Sent to places both in the US and Canada so heres hoping I catch something. Next task is to take my motherboard in and see if there is anyway I can just get a replacement for it. Might see about that this Friday.

The weather has been super cold the last week, hit by three storms in on week, which made the roads super dangerous. But it looks like the weather is finally warming up a little so its not as cold.

Other than that there is not too much to report so I will leave it at that.

Its Done!

Yep thats right everyone my second demo reel is finished and ready to be put onto dvd and I am hoping to do that tomorrow then its off to Disnye, Dreamworks, Pixar, Rainmaker, NerdCorps and any other companies that I can find on the west coast and then elsewhere in Canada and the US. Its looking pretty good so lets hope that this gets me a job. It sure would be fun to live and work somewhere other than Toronto or in Ontario. I really do need to get out on my own and explore this world. Start living my own life.

After Christmas

Ok so here I am.....justing getting over a stomach bug....it was not pleasant...got it last night and am getting over it still. Darn brother gave it to me :P

Anyway I had a good Christmas, was a full house but really fun, got lots of chocolate, cds and dvds like Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias etc, and of course Transformers. I also got an external harddrive for backing stuff up and of I got a new 5 cd stereo to replace the crappy one my ex gave me (doesn't play cds, speakers barely work, and the tuner doesn't keep the station. Even got some new satin jammies. Food was good as usual and I think the kids really enjoyed Christmas it was what they needed :)

Driver's Test

WOOT!!! I finally have my full G license now. I had my test today and passed with flying colours with only a few minor mistakes. So now I am FINALLY finished with all that bullcrap and I hear that I might get one of those new licenses that allow you to cross the US border without a passport because they act the same as a passport. It rocks and they are more secure than a passport as well. Sweet. So yeah thats my news for today.

Update on Moi

Ok so here's the update the animation is just about done WOO HOO! So its just adjusting the lighting and then rendering the scenes and fixing anything I think is off then putting it on dvd woot. So thats getting done. Been pretty busy lately it being Christmas time and all. Feeling better now that the animation is done however, this writing guild strike is a bit worrisome as it does affect my chances of getting a job in animation. Hopefully they will get it all sorted out.

Things over all have been looking up the last few weeks, despite my being busy. I have my g2 driver's test tomorrow so with any luck I will end up with a full driver's license this time around. That is pretty much all for now so tootle loo hehe.
